At my lfs they have dwarf puffers in brackish water..I've done reading and research I've heard they can live in brackish water but prefer fresh. My question is is it possible to transition the puffs from brackish to freshwater ? And if so how??

Dwarf puffers are fw fish, should not ever be in brackish. I wouldn't even purchase them from that lfs.

I agree.

I wouldn't purchase from there at all.

The transition from brackish to fresh could be extremely complicated, involving salinity measures and a gradual reduction which could ultimately just have negative results anyway.

Of course, they could be fine, and it's your call, but that's my two cents, for what it's worth.

Agree with comments above. Are the ones at your LFS green spotted puffers by any chance?

They are pea puffers right next to a tank of green spotted and a tank of figure 8
