I am thinking about creating a freshwater shark tank in the future. Maybe a 90 gallon tank with rainbow sharks and an eel? I just think it would be cool to have a freshwater tank with fish that look like they belong in a marine system. Any ideas?

My LFS do custom aquariums for houses and commercial set ups, they specialise in it - they do a lot of marine style set ups using South African Cichlids as they require less maintenance than marine. They use a mix of rock, decor, marine style lighting to resemble a marine set up then stock appropriately, if you didn't know your fish you would put money on them being marine tanks.

In a large enough space, rainbow sharks will loosely school, but I think you would need a tank bigger than 90g for that effect.
If you are open to other fw fish who look as if they could be marine, I would look at ropefish and discus. Of course, that is merely my opinion about what looks marine.

If you do there is a store in Simi Valley , Ca called peters tropical fish , they have a website and I think they have two kinds of iridescent sharks and rainbow sharks I think , they even sell a poison octopus :O
