Frozen bloodworms

I just looked at the pack of Hikari frozen bloodworms I bought. The box is marked 120204 in blue writing. Is this the expiration date or what?! I opened it and the odor was normal, so I fed some which the fish readily accepted.

What would you do? What does the blue writing say on your package? Is there a shelf life?

Mine says 2012.03. I don't think it's an expiration date, probably just a code for the packager to know which batch the worms came from.
