I have a small bit of wood that has been in the tank for about a year. Last week it developed what looks to be fungus which was growing well and half inch high in spots. Can get a pic if helpful.

I treated with household bleach (I think it was) and all good for several days back in tank. Treatment was only a weak solution and soaked for about 10 minutes. Then washing the wood quite a bit to get rid of bleach.

Just noticed that the fungus has come back. Wondering if I should try again or just give up and ditch the wood or if there is another way to solve it?

Burning the wood got suggested at work, which I admit would solve the problem..
