So I uhh... just noticed one of my mollies has grown a gonopodium. I've read that this is normal but she was pregnant not even last week. Does this mean anything? Is there any reason for this happening or does it just happen?

A quick search on the internet shows that, although very rare, it may be possible. I had an angel that did that back in the day

How could you even tell. Was it breeding?

I started with 2 juvie females. They grew to adulthood as females. I watched both of them lay eggs too. Then, one slowly turned into a male and I had fry. They ate them all though

I thought mollies were live bearers

I've had the opposite happen with guppies. I had all males in a 55 and a couple months later I had 3 male and 2 female. They even dropped fry…then proceeded to eat all of them

Keep calm and drum on
