You should never use a single sign ti determine the sex of rams. They are so inbred and modified now that Ive even seen pink bellies makes, females with mohawks, etc. You need a consensus of signs.

Just here to update! I've had my GBR's for 2 and half weeks now and they're doing fantastic. No signs that anything is bothering them. I didn't know how territorial they can be though. When they find some food, they hoard it and chase off any other fish that gets near. They only chase them though and no one's gotten hurt so I'm not worried.

Sounds like they're doing okay. Just keep a sharp eye out for any fishy behavior and flucuations in water quality, usually they're both linked to their random deaths.
