I keep a lightly planted 10G on my desk at work with just ghost shrimp and snails in it, and they happily explore the whole tank. It's fun to watch them scurrying around and make for an unconventional conversation piece. Yeah, they're cheap. I bought them at $0.12 each at ThatFishPlace in Lancaster, PA. If I had the money to burn, I'd probably go for cherry shrimp or even opae ula. I've found that if you keep them with fish, they pretty much stay hidden most of the time. I've seen them pretty active in tanks with fish of comparable size though, so I'm going to try some endlers and pygmy cories with ghost shrimp when I move my computer stand out of the office and set up my 37G cube
