Hi,

I have the new 58 gallon added to my collection. I got a glass top. At the back of the glass top is a plastic lip about an inch or two wide. With the plastic lip on the entire top is covered. Now to properly add the HOB filter do I cut this lip into two pieces exposing just enough for the HOB filter? Or do I remove it completely? I assume I make it into two pieces and leave just enought space to have the HOB filter run and a small space to allow my heater cord thru.

Hope my stupid question makes sense. Don't want to chop up the plastic piece if there is different proper way to this.

First of all, there are no stupid questions!!

Yes, you cut out a space big enough for your filter. You can also use this space to run any air hoses you need to, and for the wire from the heater, or you can cut a seperate space for the hoses and heater and anything else you need to run into your tank.
