I did research these fish prior to posting but I'm getting conflicting info about parameters and temps etc. I'd like to get some of these fish but would like to hear from personal experience from others first.

The temps. One place says a low of 74 and another says a low of 65. So if I got them I have no idea what temps to keep them at. I've never had barbs of any kind before.

Being a tropical fish, I'd say they probably do best in the mid 70's. 65 is starting to get into goldfish territory. I keep my tank at about 77, and while I don't have any barbs I do have a large community of tropical fish. They all seem happy with that temperature.

I had a school of 6 gold barbs in a 29 gallon tank. They grew larger than I expected, 3-4 inches. They swam the whole tank and were peaceful lovely fish. The temp. was 78.
