Gold nugget pleco

Bought a gold nugget Pleco The other day, and put him in with my Oscars, now I can't seem to find him? Do you think it's been eaten?

i would hope not. they are my favorite pleco and they are expensive. ive never had one but i want one.

How big was the pleco versus the oscars? I just got some BN plecos and am letting them grow out a bit in my 46 community before I put them in with my blood parrots.

It was about 2 inches, and my biggest Oscar is 4-5 inches

Oscars have ginormous mouths, too. It could very well be that, if the pleco was slender enough, one of them sucked the poor thing right down.

My money would be on the Oscar , they will eat any thing or anyone that they think will fit.

An Oscar will eat anything up to half its own size, sometimes larger depending on the shape. Many years ago I saw a 3" Oscar at an lfs with the tail end of a baby snakehead nearly the same length hanging out of its mouth.

most likely the pleco is just stressed out and hiding

usually on the backside of the intake of any filter(HOB/canister)
as there is lots of algae there generally..........
