hey all,

my golden algae eater isnt very old but has grown 2-3x its size in about 4 months.. on his back, under his top fin, has faded to white but its perfectly even on each side & hes barely orange anywhere else anymore either.. my smaller algae is also fading a little.. does this just happen w/ age or is this odd?

alsoooo ive recently weened him onto some salt because his tank is now brackish & has dolomite instead of regular gravel.. the smaller one has been in brackish since ive had him & has always been bright.. the fading on my big guy started before the salt though so i doubt thats it..

are there any reasons this would happen? my parameters are right & so is my temp.. also they both look healthy, no rot or ick etc..

obviously not an emergency but any and all help is appreciated :)

thanks!!
