Is this a good deal??

Lfs moved to a smaller space and is unloading display tanks....

the cost would be 400 -430 with the following
tank
filter AQ the big one
heater
lighting
gravel

Is this a good deal?? for a used tank?? or would I be better getting a smaller new tank this is for two anomalchormis(sp?) thomasi cichlids that cost 1.99 each...

megladonsharky~join the Eastern Washington/Northern Idaho forum (I'm currently the only one in there).

Size of tank is needed to know if it is a good deal and if there is a stand and top included.

I think the [acronym:ebde331bb2="Local Fish Store"]lfs[/acronym:ebde331bb2] is trying to get money for nothing. unless the tank is over 150 gallons. and the equipment would have to be top of the range in my eyes, but i still wouldn't pay that much.
I paid $500 Aus dunno what that is in us but it'd only be a couple hundred,
for my :120 gall tank, stand, lids, canister 400gph, heater, airpump, gravel, plants, wood, couple of rocks and 10 turqoise discus as well.
the discus alone i sold for $300. so thats a $250 full setup for me.
keep in mind this is Aussy Dollars.
theres always a better deal out there. be patient i say.
EDIT: 500Aus is 380USD

Im going to guess buy the size of the filter, that the biggest tank that it could filter, would not be worth that much money used..

Unless that tank is 75+ gallons and starfire glass and in excellent condition, or that lighting is top-end reef-lighting, you would be paying about $300-$330 too much. A used 60 gallon tank with an [acronym:28e4b92644="Activated Carbon"]AC[/acronym:28e4b92644] 500, a Ebo 250W heater, a single-tube fluorescent striplight, and 75lbs of good-quality gravel would be worth about $100-$110 at most.
