This is probably a dumb question, but is it okay to give betta food to other gouramis? (honey gouramis in particular)

I don't see why it wouldn't be okay as bettas are a type of gourami, but I just wanted to ask to be certain. They seem to like the betta food much better than flakes, so if there won't be any consequences, I think they'd like to stay on that food.

Just wondering.

Thanks!

o.o bettas are a type of gourami??? didn't know that ._. lol I dont' see why it would be a problem either. There's no dumb questions...just common knowledge ones that you don't commonly know... lol

Bettas are not a type of gourami, but both bettas and gouramis are considered labyrinth fish. Labyrinth fish have a special organ - the labyrinth - that allows these fish to get atmospheric oxygen.

Bettas and gouramis are both anabantoids/labrynth fish. Bettas are not a type of gourami as An t-iasg said.
