Within the last few weeks, I'm getting this green what I assume is a type of algae in spotty areas on top of sand substrate in two of my three tanks (the 16 and the 75). What is this stuff?

My water params are good in all of my tanks (0,0,5-10). The tanks are well established tanks and are lightly planted. I dosed once months ago with fertilizer tabs. No CO2.

The fish don't seem bothered by it, nor are they attracted to it.

Any ideas for why it's happened and what I need to do to eradicate it would be much appreciated.

:thanks:

I used to get that when the lights were on too long (sometimes I forgot to turn them off.) I just kept the lights off for a day and it died. I'm not entirely sure what you should do though. Hopefully someone else will chime in.
