I am posting this here because I know that GSPs start out in fresh water, move to brackish and then saltwater.
I have a 29 gallon aquarium that I want to use to house one GSP. I have a plentiful supply of snails (ramshorns), so that won't be an issue. I do, however, need advice on transitioning from freshwater to brackish to (finally) saltwater.
Also, is sand best for GSPs? What do most people use for hiding spots for theirs? Is it ok to keep gobys with GSPs?

Any advice or suggestions are more than welcome!

IMO its a lot easier setting up the saltwater tank, then drip acclimate your puffer to the saltwater tank. In my own tank, everything changes when I move from freshwater to saltwater.

Use live and base rocks with powerhead for effective biological filtration as well a decoration. There are many ways you can set up a saltwater tank. I learned best after studying the components of a saltwater tank.
