Hello all I come bearing questions (again).

I have a tank with 2 Goldfish. It has been established for about 2 years. About 3 months ago I was lazy and didn't clean it for approximately 1 month and ended up with an algae bloom / green water.
Did a complete clean out and while the fish were out put the tank outside to get some natural UV.
Everything went back in and was good but then about a week or so later another algae bloom. This is occurring within about a week after doing a water change / cleaning the filter.

Currently I am just monitoring it by doing weekly approx 50% water changes.

I am trying to find a solution to this issue and have come across UV Lights and also UV Filters.

I'm wondering:

1) Can anyone recommend one over the other. Which works best?

2) Any particular UV recommendation?

3) Anyone tried DIY UV Light/Filter for their tank?

4) Any natural / home remedies for green water?

5) Anyone had any good results using Daphnia?

Thanks again for all assistance and advice.

Sunlight can cause green water I've found. A UV unit will clear it up quite well but problem is still there. I think straw extracts have been used - need Fresh to comment.
