Does anyone have experience with this?

Right now I'm doing bamboo and mondo grass from PetSmart for fun and want to try some more.

I'm using Miracle Gro potting mix and dirt for the substrate.

Here's what I got so far.

I was wondering if I should still use prime when watering or do plants care? Also should I just to enough water to keep it wet or top off the bowl like in the pics? Thanks :)

They will both do better in a typical house plant setup, the plant sold as bamboo is actually a dracaena with old foliage removed from the lower nodes giving it a bamboo look.

So basically set it in the sun and keep it watered.
