I recently had a batch of guppy babies born...around 3 weeks ago. They are in a brackish tank with an approximate sg of 1.005. I have a friend at work who has a freshwater tank and wants a few guppies. How do you acclimate babies being that they are so sensitive? Float the bag for a few hours adding more fw every 20 minutes or so?

Do you think the babies will be fine with an adjustment like this at such an early age?

I have acclimated fish to very different water than what they were used to because the water in my tank is so hard and alkaline. I have seemingly even adapted neons to pH difference of greater than 0.5. I am not sure if this would hold true for baby guppies but neons are some of the most sensitive fish. I took 2 hours to acclimate them. I floated in the tank for 10 minutes, then every 10 minutes I added 1/4 cup of tank water. The more time you take to adjust the better. Good luck.
