Guppy breeding and light cycles

Hey does anyone know an ideal exposure time or if having regular photo periods helps improve breeding in guppies? Currently the lights come on when I turn them on and have no rhyme or reason to it.

I'm not aware of anything except that the first lot of fry may take longer (could be urban myth). Would be interested if anything comes up and will try to remember to ask at society meeting next week.

It looks like I have two pregnant females, haven't been tracking how long they've been pregnant though, haha.

At last one of my females gave birth! The fry are spread out in different hiding places near the bottom of the tank, hope they make it.
