Harry the escaping shrimp. (True Story.)

This morning when I woke up and went downstairs to watch tv, I nearly stepped on something.

You'll Never believe this.

It was a Bamboo shrimp! 8O

It escaped out the back of my tank through the very small opening between the filter and the hood. 8O

It later died.

I am wondering if any body knows what could be done to prevent the other one from "escaping" too. (I'm thinking egg crate material)

just put some sponge between the area where he got out.

I use plastic canvas around the filter and heater openings to keep my snails in. Maybe that would help? Good luck and sorry for your loss.

had this problem with some crabs.. used some screen like window screen to put over the extra space where they could crawl out and they haven't been able to get out since.. although they do hang on the screen but they cannot escape!
