So I've been looking at Hatchetfish to put in my Fluval Chi since they mostly school at the top of the tank, allowing the shrimp at the bottom of the tank to leisure around without getting too worked up about getting eaten. Also, the mouths of the Hatchetfish are aimed upwards to eat the food coming from the surface. If anyone can help me decide if this is a good idea or not, that would be a great help, thanks :)

Terrible idea. Chi is only 5g.
Too small for almost all fish.
And Hatchets need an very well covered tank or they will get startled and jump out and die.

I would just do Shrimp and plants ImageUploadedByTapatalk1418455909.200414.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1418455933.085789.jpg

Hi joker,
I agree with coursair on this one, that tank will be too small for hatchets. But, if you get a chance to keep them in a bigger tank they are great fish! It's important to also have a tight fitting lid and plant cover as mentioned. Good luck!
