I have a 75g freshwater community tank that currently has 1 angel in it that seems to be doing well.

I was originally going to build out the tank with other freshwater fish and had read that if you were going to have less than 5-6, then you needed to have just one, so that's what I did.

I have decided against multiple species and want to focus on the angels. Will I have a problem adding 4-5 angels to a tank with 1 established angel in it already?

Is there a "best number" of new angels I should add to avoid problems?

Thanks for your help!

How big is the original angel? I'm in the same situation. I have one fully grown koi angel that will not accept any new angels.

The best bet for keeping multiple angels is to buy them all small and let them grow out together. It is almost impossible to add small angels with a fully grown angel.

Forgot to mention that I have had the Angel for less than a month. His body is about 1.5-2 inches in diameter (excluding all the fins)
