Heater?

Have a heater for my 46 gal. Tank with 2 fancies. I would like to warm the water. Can anyone give me an ideal temp and how long it should take to raise it? Any pitfalls to avoid? Thanks for any advice.

Oh yeah, does anyone trust Melafix to add to the tank for goldies?

I'm not the fancy goldfish expert... but I think something like 68F to 70F would be good. I think they can tolerate 60F. But they are not tropical, so I would stay away from 80F and above.

Don't know about Melafix, but someone will be along in a bit...
