heater recommendations for fluval spec

Hi, I got a 5 gallon/19 litre Fluval Spec tank for Xmas which I currently have cycling (empty) at my office. Because the building's heat is turned off overnight and on weekends, I definitely want a heater for the tank (probably going with a betta once its ready). Had some bad luck with the pre-set ones overheating and/or burning out, and I'm hoping for recommendations for adjustable heaters that will safely fit in the small area near the tubing without problem and actually keep it warm enough.

Fluval sells a heater that worked great in my edge which is 6 gallon. Don't know how it does in long run since I only had it running for a couple months
