Hi guys/Girls.

Im new to this forum. Need some advice.

I have my Jewel 96 Tank all setup less the live plants and fish.
Its just in the neatralisation period (still running a bit high on the ph) but just needed to purchase the required chemicals to get it down..

But my problem is--- My tank is running at 30degrees, and i know recomended is 26/27... The weird thing is, my heater isnt even switched on.

I know its the hottest part of the year, but could i get away with not using the heater untill the tempreture starts dropping in the later stages of the year.????

Cheers

Glen

Yes you can get away with it no problem just make sure it is consistant. Turn it up when you feel it's needed.

Welcome to AA!

What is your pH? Trying to control it with chemicals is usually worse for the fish than a slightly high pH. I see no reason to turn your heater on now unless your house is getting very cold at night

Welcome glen!!

Consistant ph is better then ideal ph.
Don't add chems to get it down.

Be sure to read about the nitrogen cycle before adding fish. You can find lots of infomation about it in this forum.Go back a few pages too

Ask questions as they come to you...
