At the top 3-5 inches of my tank I have hard calcium on the glass is there anything I can do to get rid of it?

Scrubbing with vinegar can help - is there specific reason you don't have the tank completely filled?

that is quite an illusion it makes - but yes, try vinegar and lots of scrubbing.
