Help with I.D.

What is this? A friend of mine breeds these and came over for Xmas and threw it in my tank. Said yeah no worries he'll be fine. Looks cool and digs under the gravel sand mix I have. Biggest in tank so far.

They are pretty, just annoyed my friend thought it would be funny to just drop this thing in my tank and tell me I'm gonna live him. I almost slapped him! He breeds these so I figured he knew what he was talking about. He has a 300 gallon African tank, one loach is HUGE!! Not this one. I think a clown loach. Anyway... Cool thing, he should be fine then.
