Hi everyone,

I'm in the process of cycling a 5.5 gallon for my lone betta.

I'm currently on day 11 and still have no change/drop in ammonia levels. When can I expect to see the magic starting to happen? Am I doing something wrong?

Ammonia: ~4.0ppm
pH: 7.5
Water Temp: 85 degrees
Both filter and air stone are running
Water was treated with Prime (2 drops per 4L) and aquarium salt (1/2 tsp per 4L)

I doubt you're doing anything wrong. Cycling can take up to a month, even more sometimes. Keep checking. One day it will just suddenly start dropping. Takes time for the bacteria to develop.

Why the salt? Not sure if it's necessary.
If you can get a hold of some established media you could cut cycling down to a week or so.
