Pondmom - you have an outdoor pond, right? What do you do with it in the winter?

Yes Thaiboxer, I do have an outdoor pond (which I miss playing with)
All I do is clean it out in the fall, remove all the filter pads, sink them to the bottom, and raise a pump to a higher shelf so it bubbles all winter.
I also have the DIY deicer that keeps a hole open under the light bulbs.

I've noticed this winter that the "goldfish/commets" have been more at the surface where the koi are at the bottom.
Speaking of koi....I just moved 3 of the koi to their "new home" The aquarium
Not the best pic, but at least you get to see them.
They are now between 7-8" (5 when I got them)
Anyhoo.....enjoy

Cool fishies! Will you move them back outside in the spring?

Have you seen the koi at World of Fish in Bloomington? He's like 24", very impressive!
