Horse face loach unfound in tank

So I had four horse faced loaches I my tank. I am missing one and I have no idea where he has gone. I turned all the sand in the base of my tank. He is no where to be found. As my water levels are upslightly so I know he's dead. But I have two bamboo shrimp and 3 other horse loaches so I'm wondering would of he been eaten ?
