Get a rock or decoration out of your tank put it in a jar with your tank water and sit in a window until it has lots and lots of algae which shouldn't take much time. Then just sit your decoration back into your tank.

wil it matter if i put a lid on the container? and will anything bad happen if i get some sample algea to put in container? the sample will be from a river. people swimm in it and stuff

I wouldn't get a sample from a river the lids fine I would just sit in the window and in no time algae will grow

if its sunny and left in a contaner for 1 day will it grow algea or 2 days?
