How far do you have your filter intake..?

mine is all the way to the bottom and the bottom of the little filter guard is touching the sand..is that good.? i have a [acronym:6e495b778b="Hang On Back"]hob[/acronym:6e495b778b] pengiun bio wheel mini

Cut the plastic stem so that the bottom of the strainer is about 1 inch from the gravel. This should give you maximum effectiveness.

fearlessfisch hears surf in the shell
i have my intakes about halfway up the tank, to avoid getting sand in the impellers. it works fine for me.
