how fast does 'carbon' work? will it remove tannins in 24hrs

my tank is a little yellow because of the driftwood.

will carbon make my tank crystal clear overnight ??

yeah, and if you really wanna make it clear, change the carbon on a weekly basis (expensive i know) becuase it loses its absortive properties after about a week. Also don't leave it in for over a month.
