How frequently you change the floss in the filter?

Since 7Enigma brought out topic of using floss, I want to know how frequently you change the floss in the filter, or how frequently you toss off the dirty part of the floss. Normally I rip off dirty part of the floss every two weeks. I am wondering maybe I should replace less frequently on a planted tank.

I take out the nasty part weekly. And I agree-it really makes a tank sparkly clear.

I rinse mine weekly in old tank water and replace it every 2-3 weeks.

I replace it once a month during my normal filter maintenance schedule...only because I use a lot of it. Pretty nasty at that time.

I replace it every time I do filter maintence. It's cheap and your other media holds plenty of bacteria.

Sump filter floss - rinse with garden hose once a week and let it sit in dechlor water before back in the sump. Replace ever month or so.

Canister filter floss - rinse every 2 months with garden hose and let sit in dechlor water, replace every 4-6 months.

HOB filter floss - rinse every month with garden hose and let sit in dechlor water, replace every month or two.
