In my 75 gallon I currently have:
3 angels
6 platies
4 balloon mollies
6 cories
1 clown pleco
1 glass bloodfin tetra (will get 6 eventually)
1 bolivan ram
1 small apisto (trifasciata I think)

Filter: marineland c220 (will also get an aquaclear 110 when I can afford it)
The tank is planted
50-80% water changes weekly
My grandpa really likes black neon tetras, could I get say, a school of 8 in my tank? Along with the previous stock?

Go for it, angel may indulge as I'm sure you're well aware;)

Thanks brookster, you have really helped me on my way with all of this chaos. So glad that I can because my grandpa always bugs me about my all of the "little fish" I get, but he finally understands the schooling dynamic, so he loves these black neons. I would be about full with the black neons right?

I don't think so.. I'd personally add 14 myself.. I'm a sucker for a fat shoal though..

Here's my stand on the matter.. test your nitrates before you weekly wc, nitrates below 30ppm? Ok... take a step back.. does the tank look busy or crowded, no? Add appropriate stock to fill out the various territories and levels. You can always plug in to Aqadvisor as a cross reference. .
