Well, I have found more fry in the tank after returning from work. Based on the size, they are today's batch. Anyway, I saw a handful of them, meaning the rest probably got eaten already. My question is whether this counts as a meal and if I should skip a feeding.

Given enough livebearers, would it even be possible to have a self sustained food source of fry?

good question, I would think youshouldn't, the fish that ate the fry are probaly allready full and the others would eat, but fish are also oppurtunistic so they eat when its available. but if you did decide to skip a feeding, it wouldn't hurt the fish, they can go without eating for a few days and be fine, that doesn't apply to all fish, but a rather large portion of them. If your fish are omnivores or carnivores I wouldn't see why the baby fry wouldn't be anything but healthy for them
