I've recently switched my 29g from gravel over to sand and I'm looking for Malaysian trumpet snails to stir up my sand. My problem is that they seem to be hard to find. I got one from a LFS. As soon as he hit the sand he started digging. I also picked up a tub of snails from Petsmart. They were giving them away and they were the right shape, so I figured I'd take a chance. I put three of them in the tank, but they started moving across the sand to my plants, so I took them out. They looked like the trumpet snail I got from the LFS, but the shells were slightly lighter in color and speckled. How do I tell the real MTS apart from these imposters?
