An interest article but nothing we good fish keepers haven't been doing for years.
Cleverly thought out tank design, not just for our pleasure but for the fishes sanity as well. Lots of cover, nooks and crannies where they can rest or hide. Varying water flow throughout the tank. Breaking the line of sight in long tanks so many fish cannot see the others. Decor arranged so that there are many different routes to navigate the overall tank. Feeding in high flow water so the fish have to chase down their 'prey' and giving them a feeding break once a week for a day.
In short, giving the fish as near natural experience as normal. I can see only a third of my fish at any one time, apart from feeding time, and I like the natural way they all interact. Fish behaviour is as interesting as their beauty and doing all these things reduces stress and therefore reduces decease.
