I just moved to Denver after graduating from college and I had to take the first job I could get so I can pay rent, etc. That happens to be a job as an animal care specialist at PetSmart. I start on Wednesday and I'm sooo not excited. I feel silly for working with a bunch of high-schoolers for like $8.00 an hour despite having my Bachelor's.
Maybe it'll be a good chance to get employee discounts though, who knows!

Don't fret! I'm moving to San Diego after graduating and who knows what kind of job I'll have to take to get by as I wait to get a 'real job'.

Good luck!

I've been out of college for years. I have lots of professional experience. I am working at Dick's Sporting Goods. The job market sucks right now. Stick it out and hopefully something better will come along later.

Anyways, mind if I ask which one?

I actually think it is a great idea that knowledgable folks like you all are working at PetSmart....gets knowledge in there!

But the downside is that your not there the entire time and the other ppl you work with will only continue to flub things up. Personally, it would make me sad and frustrated all day to see those poor fish.

But hey! A job's a job.

(I really want to live in Denver...../jealous)

I would move TODAY! but my husband has too good of a job with too good of a company. I just hope that they open a datacenter in Denver...

I'll be working at the big one in Littleton. I live in Englewood for now (gross!) but Denver seems very cool thus far.
I assume the job will be fun as far as working with animals. I'm really looking forward to doing stuff with the marine tanks since I don't know anything about saltwater, including the fish, the water and the filtration (not to mention the inverts). It should be cool.
However I really don't like the idea of having a dress code and all the crap that comes along with being the underling at a Pet retail store. Meh, it'll be interesting anyway.
:bandit:
p.s. Alaris, whatever your avatar picture thing is, its really cool looking!
