Hello hi I need some I have a new 56 gallon tank just set it up a week ago & the ammonia is 2.0ppm .so what do I need to do?

I am assuming you have fish in the tank? If so, then you are going to need to do approximately 3 back to back 50% water changes waiting 1 - 2 hours in between them to get the ammonia down to safe levels (It's a lot of work which sucks). An ammonia of .25ppm is generally recognized as safe for fish.

I would also check out this link as it has helped tons of people in a similar situation.

I just learned about cycling but I already have fish. What now?! - Aquarium Advice

What fish do you have in your tank now?
How often are you feeding them?
What are you using as a dechlorinator?
