i make rock houses from local rocks here and they look way better than anything you will buy from the lfs. i have them spread across the bottom of my 55 gal so the loaches always have a house to duck into and they use every one of them. here is a lousy pic, but you can see 4 rock houses for the loaches i made.

my setup is quite similar to yours, catfishface. just the caves spread all the way across the back of the tank, and the plants are in front of the caves. They are all made from sandstone I have collected locally, and some different rocks and stones I have found in my traveling this summer (some rocks are from WI, some from NY, and some from AK)

i see you were in ny. i have a few rocks in there now from the herkimer diamond mines in ny. so there might be a diamond in that tank, lol.

Thanks for the tips and yeah im kinda lazy too but at the moment
im trying to save as much money as i can my baby is due in less than a month
