Id on dempsey plz

Got two JD to be transferred into their own tank 200gal , I just can't tell if those are male or female All help is really appreciated

I think the darker one is a male and the lighter one is a female.

I think they both may be females. Do you have another pic of the top one when it's not as dark?

The thing is he/she is always that dark...

Top is really hard to tell. bottom def female as the others said. If the tops has a blue beard like the bottom then female is no the most likely male. Males typically have more blue on the bodies though.

I was able to zoom in on the top pic and there is no blue on the body and a few lines of blue on the jaw. I am going to go with female for that one also.
