Looks like botia rostrata, but doubtful because that's kind of rare. They also get to be 8 inches long, so hopefully, you've got a big tank, if that's the correct ID. ;)

They do kinda resemble b. rostrata. I dunno but they're really cool lookin. Keep us updated if u do ID them.
Goodluck!

If you do look up the rostrata, be aware that the juveniles have solid stripes whereas the adults have more separated stripes.

Also resembles botia histrionica.

Humm they do resemble both, kinda look like golden zebra loaches too, the guy at the shop said they'd grow up to about 5" and as they didn't have a label on the tank he went and checked what they were and told me, I just wish I could remember, I'm sure the words 'gold ring' were in the name but cannot find anything with a name like that :/

I just asked my mum whether she remembered and she seemed to think it was something to do with 'gold banded' so I looked that up and found a royal gold banded loach, which looks very alike and a lot of info on it seems the same as the info the guy at the shop gave me so maybe Thats the identity? :)

The description for that species indicates 8.5 inches at maturity, requiring 55 gallons.
