Infection?

How can I tell if my goldfishes tail fin is infected... It got torn...

Do you have other fish in the tank because other fish could have attacked him.

I do but they don't attack it got stuck in a little cave and couldn't get out and when it did the tail fin was torn I got that melafix or whatever it's called.

I don't think its infected. If its just a little torn, Melafix will help with healing. The tail should heal on its own. Its really no big deal.
