Having got fed up with different types of aquarium thermometer, and trying to use one to match water temperatures on water changes, I bought myself an infrared thermometer. It's brilliant. Instant temperature readings in a all areas of the tank letting me see the hot spots and cooler areas. Just aim it in the bucket of new water and instantly see the temperature.
It's also brilliant for checking fridge temperatures, room temperatures, hot spots on laptops etc. I know that's not fish related, but it has so many uses.
The model I bought was the MeasuPro IRT20 Temperature Gun Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer with Laser Targeting for £14.99 on Amazon, normally £39.99.
I just thought it worth sharing on the forum.
