My gold ram fry just became free swimming today. Unfortunately the vinegar eels I've been culturing for 2 months in preparation for this are still somehow in very very very minimal quantities. There are definitely not enough to go around.

I've tried feeding freshly hatched artemia & first bites but I'm unsure if they ate it. I saw a few eat it and then spit it out.

So I just want to be safe and have infusoria just incase. But I'm wondering if it's okay to use the pond stuff?

I would say don't. There are to many parasites and diseases you could transfer to your tank

That's what I read and why I was wary.
It's 32 degrees here in nj.
U think parasites would still be alive in freezing cold water?

I guess ill just have to hope they're eating!

ill ring out a sponge from my other tank and use that too.

Their still alive in the spring aren't they? If you have any moss in a tank throw that in there. My apistogramma fry are always eating at the moss.
