Good morning all,

I have been reading up on inline heaters. I like the idea of them, and really like the fact that it takes the heater out of sight. My question, is it worth it? Do any of you use it? Or do you just stick with the standard tube heater in the tank?

I have a Fluval 206 canister, and read that the ribbed hosing that comes with the 206 will not work with the heater.

Interested in this type of heater as well and look forward to replies.

I have read there are issues with reliability which has prevented them from taking off and replacing the in tank units....

There are reliability issues with all heaters. It's the dodgiest technology in the aquarium hobby.

Hydor makes a good inline heater, but I would recommend getting a secondary controller to govern it (or any other heater), in case of failure.
