I find platy's prefer pH is 7.0-8.0 in all web sites. But my tank water has pH6.6. I wonder whether it is ok for the platy or not. Does anyone has the experience to keep platy in low water pH?

If it doesn't matter, why they all give that pH range?

I want the fish breed (it breeded last month in pH7.0 tank) and live for their lifespan.

Because that is the pH range in nature. They will live their full lifespan perfectly fine in 6.6. Acclimate them to your conditions and you should be good to go.

If my pH was 6.6 I think I'd worry over what my kH was. Low overall alkalinity (kH) means the pH level is less stable. Better to have higher kH which will push up the pH, but lead to a stable pH in the long run...
