is water clarifier safe and does it work?

will it hurt shrimp or goldfish?

Try filter floss? I'd avoid any chemical additive unless absolutely necessary..

is water clarifier safe and does it work?

In my experience it doesn't work. Also, it's always better to avoid using chemicals when possible. Water changes and filter floss or seachem purigen are a better option.
