so i went to the flea market today to get some things for an apartment that we are going to rent out. walking around i saw a 29g sitting in a small shop there, when i went to inspect it, i noticed the 55g that it was placed atop of! i quickly asked how much, and was given a price of $50, but being as cheap as i am i offered $30, and was told no! after a bit of haggling and this lady not budging whats so ever! i ended up paying $40. the tank is in decent condition, i found 2 leaks on the left wall i guess and all the other glass is ok. i was thinking of regluing myself, but i also know of some where i can take it. is it hard to do? do i have to remove the old glue? or can i just add a new layer over it? here some pics..

hey i was moving the tank and the side hit the corner of the concrete, i chipped some of the glass :(, nothing that big but will this be a problem? they are on the outside corners, i tried to snap a pic, i am not to sure how good u can see them but here. i was thinking of super glueing them back on? of maybe even using the silicone?

none of them are really that deep, less then half of the glass i think, but what do u guys think, will i have to replace this piece(S)?

It's hard to tell how large the chip is from the pics. However, I have a chip in my 50 gallon similar to yours. Mine is about 3.5 - 4 inches from the top, and hasn't given me any problems. If it's near the top, there will be a lot less stress than if it were near the bottom. YMMV

thanx i have read it like 12 times i think i am ready to try it this weekend! i cant wait, i am gonna buy the ballast this weekend hopefully!
